BREAKING NEWS: Evang. (Dr) Funmi Aragbaye Becomes GOMAN National President

Popular gospel musician, Evang (Dr) Funmi Aragbaye has emerged the National President of Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria (GOMAN) while Mr. Femi Opalemo became the Vice President at the just concluded election which was held today in Lagos.

Evang. (Dr) Funmi Aragbaye has 47 votes, the second runner up, Rev. Karis has 21 votes while Rev. Philip Olayiwola has 13 votes.

While speaking with Glitter News Online, Evang (Dr) Funmi Arargbaye said, she was full of praise and happy to become the second female President of the Association.

“I’m naturally happy, but the challenges are numerous.”

“My mission is to gather all artistes together and promote unity and love.”

“I appreciate all my fans across the world especially eminent Nigerians like Chief (Dr) Ebenezer Obey for all his support before and after the elections.” She stated.

Her Brief Profile

Funmi Aragbaye was born on July 5, 1954 in Ondo town, into a Christian family. She was trained at Ondo states civil service training schools before she joined the Oyo State civil service where she retired as principal administrative officer in 1997. Although, she started her musical career at Evangelical Church Winning All at Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, Nigeria shortly after she obtained the West Africa School Certificate. Her debut album titled Olorun Igbala, alongside with Sioni Ilu ayo was released in 1983. She celebrated her 60th years birthday and 30th years in gospel music on July 5, 2014 in Lagos state and in attendance was veteran Nigerian gospel singers and artist including chief Ebenezer Obey, Joseph Adebayo Adelakun, Dunni Olanrewaju, Kunle Ajayi, a saxophonist and evangelist Bola Are, two-term President of Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria.
