Forbes reveals their list of 2016's highest paid actresses
For the second year in a row, Jennifer Lawrence is the Girl On Fire, as she has topped Forbes list of the world’s highest paid actresses, taking home $46 million in pre-tax earnings.
The Hunger Games actress total comes thanks to the huge success of the final installment in the franchise which saw Jennifer play Katniss Everdeen over four film, as well as a very large advance for her role alongside Chris Pratt in the upcoming sci-fi drama Passengers.
Melissa McCarthy, the comedy genius who has made cinema-goers fall in love with her thanks to performances in films such as Spy, Bridesmaids, and The Heat, took home $33 million, while The Avengers star Scarlett Johansson was in third.
Jen’s total was actually down 11.5% from $52 million in 2015 however Melissa’s are up 10% – probably thanks to the hefty payday she received for starring in the smash hit Ghostbusters.
China’s Fan Bingbing came in fifth place while Indian actress Deepika Padukon joins the top ten for the first time thanks to Bollywood hits such as Bajirao Mastani – and numerous additional endorsements.
