Jose Mourinho loved winning with Manchester United in ‘Fergie Time’
Jose Mourinho has admitted he’s delighted to have won late on against Hull and that he’s happy to call it ‘Fergie Time’.
Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford struck late on after excellent work from Wayne Rooney to give United a vital three points in their quest to become champions.
The style of the win was reminiscent of life under Sir Alex Ferguson, whose teams notoriously scored late goals to secure victory.
And Mourinho has taken it as a compliment to be likened to United’s most successful manager of all time.
‘[Sir Alex Ferguson is] such a legend in the club and I’m more than happy to say that we won in ‘Fergie Time’.
‘I’m more than happy with that.’
The Portuguese tactician also revealed that he was confident United would find a way through, despite Hull frustrating them for long periods of the match.
‘I know when we score late people will speak about a bit of luck but the reality is we deserved it, especially in the second half.
‘We were so dominant, so intense in our rhythm and our attacking wave and I always believed the goal would arrive.’
Mourinho is certainly making quite the impression at Old Trafford and United have an 100% win ratio in competitive fixtures under their new boss.
