Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial missing from Manchester United’s pre-match stroll in Liverpool

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial were absent from Manchester United’s pre-match stroll around Liverpool’s city centre ahead of Monday night’s clash at Anfield.

Jose Mourinho’s players were pictured stretching in a car park near the Titanic Hotel but Mkhitaryan and Martial were both not seen in the group.

Mkhitaryan hasn’t featured for United since he was brought off at half-time in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City last month and missed the international break as he continued his recovery from a groin injury.

But Jose Mourinho insisted on Friday that Mkhitaryan was available for the fixture against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Martial was also not pictured stretching with his United team-mates and fuelled speculation of his absence by removing his post on Twitter, which claimed that he was looking forward to the match at Anfield.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who is yet to feature in the Premier League this season, was part of the group of players warming up.
