UAE FA: Asamoah Gyan guilty of having ‘un-Islamic’ hairstyle

Asamoah Gyan has taken the concept of a bad hair day to a whole new level.

The former Sunderland striker, who currently plays for Dubai-based Arabian Gulf League side Al Ahli, is guilty of having ‘unethical hair’.

The 31-year-old striker, who sports a mohawk, has fallen foul of United Arab Emirates Football Association rules on the matter. He is one of 40 players to have done so.

The rules have been enforced in the past, with Saudi goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah told to cut his ‘un-Islamic’ hair by a referee in 2012 and Al Wahda player Suhail Al-Mansoori recently told to head to the barbers.
