Girl, 11, set to become Britain’s youngest mother
Police are investigating after it emerged that a young girl is to become Britain’s youngest mother. The girl, who is just 11 and cannot be named, is believed to have got pregnant to a male who is a few years older than her. She is expected to give birth in the near future but details are limited because of the legalities around the issue. The local authority is currently seeking reporting restrictions at the High Court’s family division. The news follows the revelation that Tressa Middleton, once labelled Britain’s youngest mother, is pregnant with her second child. Middleton, who lives in Bathgate, Scotland, said: ‘I just want things to be perfect this time around.’ She added: ‘Discovering I was pregnant was bittersweet. I am so excited about what the future holds and I already love my baby. I am so grateful I am finally going to be the mother I have longed to be all these years. Tressa found out she was pregnant aged 11, shortly after being sent back to live with her family following years in care. Her brother Jason, then 16, was sent back too. It was then that he attacked her. She kept the identity of her baby’s father a secret until she gave birth, and then she confided in a friend after breaking down while drunk.
