Foreign: British woman stabbed to death by 'crazed knifeman' in Jerusalam
A young British woman who was stabbed to death by a crazed knifeman on a tram in Jerusalem today was a religious studies exchange student.
Hannah Bladon was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being repeatedly knifed in the chest but couldn’t be saved, emergency services said.
Superintendent Micky Rosenfeld, Israel Police’s foreign press spokesman, identified the British victim in a statement on Twitter.
He said: “In today’s terror attack, British student Hannah Bladon was stabbed and died in hospital.
“Police security measures taking place in Jerusalem.”
The Hebrew University said Hannah, 21, had only started studying in Jerusalem in January and was due to complete a single semester and return to the UK in the summer.
Staff expressed their “sorrow” and said the “university condemns such acts of terror, murder and vandalism”.

A statement read: “The Hebrew University and the Rothberg International School express our deep sorrow over the murder of a British student, Hannah Bladon, in today’s attack.
“We extend our deepest condolences to her family and we share in their sorrow.
"The university condemns such acts of terror that harm innocent people, and especially a student who came to Jerusalem to study and widen her academic horizons."
