Three Manchester United players among the top seven richest British sportspeople

The wealth at Manchester United has been laid bare by the Sunday Times Rich List which features three Old Trafford personnel among the top seven richest British sportspeople.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, signed last summer from PSG, comes as the wealthiest of them with a fortune of £110million.

Wayne Rooney has accumulated £93m and manager Jose Mourinho has £61m.

It sees the stars rank 2nd, 3rd and 7th in the top 10 richest British sportspeople.

The list is headed by three-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, who is worth £131m. His fellow driver, Jenson Button, comes in fourth with £86m despite having given up his seat with McLaren at the end of last season.

Rory McIlroy is fifth despite not winning a major since 2014. The Northern Irishman is understood to be worth £82m. That puts him just ahead of world number one tennis player Andy Murray who is valued at £77m.

The others on the list are Gareth Bale, Pep Guardiola and basketball player Luol Deng.
