Man Bags 7 years imprisonment In Osun for stealing laptops, X- Touch phone, school bag and ATM Card
A 30-year-old man, Olajide Adeshina, was on Thursday sentenced to seven years imprisonment by an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for burglary.
Adeshina was convicted of the three charges of burglary, theft and fraud brought against him.
The convict, who pleaded guilty, had no legal representation.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Fatimoh Sodamade, did not give Adeshina any option of fine.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Fagboyinbo Abiodun, had earlier told the court that the convict committed the offence on Oct. 19, 2016 at about 12:00a.m at Ofatedo area in Osogbo.
Abiodun said the convict broke into the apartment of one Egynlola Adewunmi and carted away a Dell laptop, HP laptop, X- Touch phone and a school bag containing GTBank ATM and a total sum of N30,000.
He said Adeshina used the stolen phone to fraudulently transfer the sum of N37,000 from the complainant’s bank account to his personal account.
“Adeshina had been a serial house breaker and was also convicted twice before he committed same offence again,” the prosecutor told the court.
Abiodun said the offences committed contravened sections 411(1), and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 Vol. 11 laws of Osun, 2003
