How 3 OOU Students, Toddler, 5 Other Passengers Killed In Ghastly Accident In Ogun State
About 3 OOU Students and other passengers lost their lives today at Ibara Village along Shagamu, Ogun State as a red IVECO Mark Trailer with Reg. No. LND 564 XP, loaded with granite, recklessly rammed into a 14-seater stationary white mazda passenger- bus with Reg.No.TRE556 XA.
Glitter News Online learnt that only five of the passengers (2 male, 3 female) were rescued by the officials of TRACE who work at every nook and cranny 24hrs within the state roads.
The dead victims, believed to be prospective students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU, were said to be going to the school to formalize their admission requirments.
The students and the toddler were said to have been trapped inside the bus before they eventually died together with the tddler's mother.
Eye witness account further said the passenger bus coming from Sango-Ota and journey to Ijebu-Igbo/Ijebu-Ode had earlier parked by the traffic corridor to allow one of the passengers, a female, answer the call of nature, when the trailer, from nowhere rammed into the bus from behind, push- driving it along until it fell on the bus. Confirming the story, the TRACE spokesperson, Commander Akinbiyi said the victims suffered serious degree of injury, adding that all of them have been taken to Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, OSUTH, Sagamu for medical attention.
