One eye on Chelsea? Arsenal omit seven stars from first-team squad for Koln clash
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger dropped a massive hint that he will ring the changes against Koln as seven first-team stars were missing from training on Wednesday.
Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Alexandre Lacazette, Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka were all absent at London Colney, appearing to confirm that they will all sit out of the Gunners’ opening Europa League encounter.
All seven players will hope to return to Wenger’s squad as Arsenal head across London for their much-anticipated clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Jack Wilshere is expected to start against Koln and Wenger has revealed that Alexis Sanchez is desperate to face the Bundesliga outfit at the Emirates.
