Tottenham Hotspur training ground evacuated following 'WWII bomb' discovery

Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground was evacuated this following the discovery of a suspected bomb. Police were called to the scene at around 3pm after what is believed to be an unexploded World War Two bomb was found. Police called after parents storm school that sent 40 pupils home People were ordered to leave the site in Hotspur Way, Enfield, north London, while officers investigated the ordnance which was found in nearby Bullsmoor Lane.

 Metropolitan Police closed a number of roads and put cordons in place while specialist officers assessed the situation.

A spokesperson said: ‘Police in Enfield were called at approximately 3pm on Friday to Bullmoor Lane after a suspected WWII ordnance was uncovered in the Tottenham Hotspur training ground. 

It is not yet known if any of the team were on the site at the time. 

 ‘Cordons and road closures have been in place while specialist officers attend and assess the device. ‘A few residential homes were also evacuated as a precaution’.
