Osun 2018: I will Soon Announce My New Political Party, Omisore Declares
The former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has said that he would soon announce the new political platform with which he would contest the September 22, governorship election in the state.
He made the disclosure in a statement he issued in Osogbo on over the weekend.
Senator Omisore who argued that about 85 percent of the members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun state have defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) said he had resolved to rescue Osun from the alleged maladministration of the Governor Rauf Aregbesola led administration
He insisted that the people of the state were already tired of the present government.
He said, “My wonderful people, I greet you wholeheartedly. It’s been quite a while since I interacted with you, this was due to reasons beyond my control.
“My reasons include working on the ways and ideas on how to rescue us all from the wicked government of Aregbesola and his APC masquerades.
“The other reason was the fact that the PDP leadership under Secondus and the Adagunodo led PDP faction have been unfair and biased in the running of the party. Inl their quest, they were unfair to the well meaning members, even rubbished our plea for peace and justice.
They (PDP) illegally overturned all the decisions and agreements that were ratified by the national convention, tried to soil my name and ambition without cause. I was even wrongfully accused of so many things I had no knowledge of.
“This last reason has caused the mass defection of most members out of PDP to SDP. As of yesterday, over 85℅ of PDP members have left the party to SDP. This is also already happening in other states as well. Furthermore, alot of APC members that are tired of the Aregbesola APC government have also shown interest in SDP.
“All government workers have vowed to support which ever cause we choose, and chase APC out of Osun. The most appreciated is the fact that overwhelming number of non politicians have decided to join our cause.
I will be announcing my political orientation any time from now. In the mean time, help get the words across all nooks and crannies of your individual neighborhoods. Thanks for your patience and understanding.”
